Hello everyone, first time posting on this forum. So i have a orange dark terror micro with a 1x8 cab.

As you can see from the title. Im looking for preferably a larger cab My budget is about 200 max. (not looking to buy new)

Any brands i should not even touch? I need some advice from more experienced players.

Thanks guys

What kind of cab are you looking for? 1x12, 2x12?

I got this 1x12 Jet City JCA12S+ to go with my Mesa Mini and am really happy with my choice, $130 100 watt Eminence 1x12 speaker, sounds great.
I've also tested it with few other amps and it has performed well with Laney AOR 50 watts, Orange Tiny Terror, Peavey Windsor.

cruise local classifieds. there are quite a few of 40x12's on there for reasonable prices. they aren't as popular as they used to be.

Eeesh! I thought that Micro/1960 combo sounded kinda low rent. Better than the stock1x8 cab surely but...

Plan "B" Get a legit tube amp that SCREAMS and run it into a similar pro quality 1x12 cab for legit guitar tone you could record your next album with. Dark Terror, Jet City, Peavey Valve King, Traynor, etc

"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

Just as a point of reference, I picked up a 1970's / 1980's closed-back Carvin 4 X 12 for $80 on Craigslist about a month ago. There are no markings any where, so the year and model are a mystery, but it sounds good and almost certainly has the original speakers in it. At least around here, 4 X 12's come up pretty regularly, all the way from cheap imports to good quality Marshalls.

$200 is pushing it budget-wise for a used 4x12. They do pop up from time to time on local classifieds, but don't expect to find one that's loaded with the most desirable speakers, or it to be the prettiest thing around (i.e - beat up/heavy signs of use). Your best bet if you're set on a 4x12 in that price range is to look for a used Carvin (Underrated as **** brand, so you can get some pretty nice stuff for ridiculously cheap sometimes). Whatever you do, don't buy something like a Berhinger, or MG-Marshall 4x12 (These are not the same as the 1960a/b cabs).

Personally, I would opt to look for a higher quality used 2x12, where you will be much more likely to get one with good speakers in it. Perhaps a used Avatar?

- Many pedals, plus other stuff

Look on craigslist for a Peavey VTM120 cab. I just posted a clip of it today in a post. Try searching for Peavey Celestion K85 speakers or something to that nature. It's a beast of a cab, uses quality wood and you can get it for $200.
