The Writing On The Wall

They don't pay me enough just to stand around
And scream at the top of my lungs
I can't figured out right where we went wrong
Believing in this land we should love

I'm not that much older than the younger generation
But I can't speak the language anymore
Riots, floods and gunfire, the only news you hear
Can no one hear us behind open doors?

It all falls down on them in the end
I'll just wait and see
We could stand up, until they bend
But for now, we just bow and read

The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall

Reality TV may take over the world
Drive us back into the dark we knew
On the other hand, we could be workin' for the man
In a factory that builds a broken youth

After everything we've tried, how could it come to this?
A liar or a cheat might take the throne
I might run up north where it seems to hurt the least
At least there, I know I can be alone

It all falls down on them in the end
I'll just wait and see
We could stand up, until they bend
But for now, we just bow and read

The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall
The writing on the wall
