Do you find this advice to be useful? Do you feel satisfied with the decisions you've made at this point in your life? Do you wish you would have done something differently?

https://www.buzzfeed.com/josehernandez/30-going-on-25?utm_term=.jppPWqaoR#.ymdrMQ0EX

What piece of advice did you desperately need when you were 25?

We asked this question to several people, from 27-year-olds to those in their late forties. Their answers were brief, but incredibly insightful.

1. You never stop being yourself, so continue to do what you love.
2. Pay your taxes.
3. Being selective with your free time is OK.
4. Not everyone needs to like you, and you don’t need to spend time with people who don’t deserve your friendship.
5. NO ONE has their whole life all figured out. Relax.
6. START SAVING NOW! Even if it’s just $20 a month, you’ll appreciate it later.
7. Prepare your own food and stop asking where your paycheck always goes.
8. A homecooked meal is cheaper and more attractive than taking your date to a restaurant.
9. Don’t buy the cheap toilet paper — you’ll regret it.
10. Don’t study something you don’t love just because you don’t know what to do with your life.
11. Try not to worry too much about your “career” — just find a job you’re passionate about.
12. Learn to live like you earn less than you actually do.
13. Accept and nurture the stuff you’re passionate about, even if it’s weird. In fact, the weirder, the better.
14. Try to live and work outside the country you grew up in for a while.
15. Question everything, especially yourself.
16. If you don’t want to go to a party, just don’t go. It’s OK.
17. You don’t have to go out every weekend to have fun.
18. Sometimes love isn’t enough to make a relationship work, and that’s OK.
19. Don’t let a new relationship take over your life, and don’t let your friendships control you either. Be true to yourself first.
20. Inviting your friends over for drinks at your place will save you loads of cash.
21. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes bad decisions lead to great stories.
22. Sometimes your friends don’t need you to make them feel better. If you really care about them, learn to be with them when they’re sad too.
23. If you’re not sure if you’re in a relationship, ask.
24. Don’t move in with your partner just because you can’t afford to live on your own.
25. Drink less and read more.
26. Spend less money on stuff and more money on traveling.
27. Don’t be so intense with that person you like.
28. Ask your parents for more stories from the past. It will make you wiser and it will make them happier.
29. Almost no one cares about your personal life. But if you think about it, that’s actually kind of freeing.
30. Take risks and ignore anyone who tries to stop you.
31. You don’t have to be rich to travel, just creative.
32. But always make sure to ask the locals if it’s safe to catch a ride.
33. Make a to-do list every day. You’ll get a lot more done, and then have a lot more free time.
34. Start exercising now. The longer you put it off, the harder it will be.
35. Don’t be so hard on yourself, even when you make mistakes. But always take responsibility for your actions.
36. Life is better than you even realize. You’ll figure it out eventually.
37. Stop comparing yourself to others.
38. It’s okay to follow the rules…until you’re the one making the rules.
39. Be as spontaneous as you can as often as you’re able to.
40. Don’t live life inside your head.
41. Do what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
42. Nothing that’s easy is worth it.
43. Keep yourself open to every possibility. Don’t try to plan for everything.
44. Don’t worry about meeting someone else’s expectations. Meet yours.
45. Try not to worry too much if people don’t fully understand you.
46. If your partner insists on leaving, don’t waste time trying to convince them to stay.
47. Don’t reject opportunities just because they take you out of your comfort zone.
48. Don’t make internal sacrifices for external things. Try to live the other way round.
49. Be patient with your parents. They’ve been patient with you your entire life.
50. Always, always try to be nicer than is necessary.
51. The world will try to suppress the things about you that make you unique. Don’t let it.
52. Focus on being yourself and don’t waste time trying to be perfect.
53. Learn to do more things on your own. Learn to be alone.
54. Life isn’t a race, so take your time.
55. Be grateful for your youth. A lot of older people, even the happy ones, would love to be 25 again.

Rebuttals:

1. You never stop being yourself, so continue to do what you love.
Ok sure, but you do need to evaluate your flaws and how that's holding you back and fix them.

2. Pay your taxes.
Only a dumbass or libtard would just roll over and fork whatever the government tells them to. Take full advantage of the tax deductions available to you. The government is NOT using your money wisely.

15. Question everything, especially yourself.
Only 50% correct. DON'T question yourself. Be self assured, even if that may lead to mistakes / being wrong. Donald Trump is living proof of how far you can go just on sheer self-confidence alone.

21. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes bad decisions lead to great stories.
One of the only half decent advice in this pathetic ass list.

38. It’s okay to follow the rules…until you’re the one making the rules.
What the fuck does this even mean?

40. Don’t live life inside your head.
Up to a point. Envisioning a better life CAN help you grow a sense of desire and subsequently, motivation and drive to achieve that life.

50. Always, always try to be nicer than is necessary.
WRONG. That's called being a fucking doormat. You don't earn respect or gain any benefit by being nicer than necessary. In fact, it does more harm than good.

54. Life isn’t a race, so take your time.
Tell that to my 320+ whp straight 6.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I'm not saying he's an example to follow, just an example of the power of confidence and its role in achieving success. What that success is is an entirely different matter.

"Be confident, even if you're a cunt; and don't stop to think about whether you're a cunt or not, so that you can continue to be a cunt."

I don't want to be reductive but you do need to evaluate yourself and your behaviour. If you're doing something wrong you should identify it and change it. Most people are not the same person they were 10 years ago and you probably wouldn't want to be.

The 'be confident' advice works for people who aren't already adequately self-assured. But saying everyone should be, and saying "DON'T question yourself." especially is too general.

It's always interesting and educative to learn from other people's experience. Don't see what's so "wrong" with this list, there's some good advice in there. It's less that at 25 is the first time you learn any of that shit but more that you should pay more attention to it

No. Shit. Sherlock
5. NO ONE has their whole life all figured out. Relax.
No. Shit. Sherlock
6. START SAVING NOW! Even if it’s just $20 a month, you’ll appreciate it later.
This is actually kinda solid
7. Prepare your own food and stop asking where your paycheck always goes.
I eat out and make my own food and I don't complain about where my paycheques go, because I know how to budget and live within my means
8. A homecooked meal is cheaper and more attractive than taking your date to a restaurant.
Yeah righto, try telling Blode that
9. Don’t buy the cheap toilet paper — you’ll regret it.
Some people might like the feeling of sandpaper on the sphincter
10. Don’t study something you don’t love just because you don’t know what to do with your life.
No. Shit. Sherlock
11. Try not to worry too much about your “career” — just find a job you’re passionate about.
That's cool, but don't bitch and moan about how your job that you're passionate about pays peanuts
12. Learn to live like you earn less than you actually do.
That's called budgeting dumbarse
13. Accept and nurture the stuff you’re passionate about, even if it’s weird. In fact, the weirder, the better.
Like necrophilia? Ok, cool.
14. Try to live and work outside the country you grew up in for a while.
Not all of us are rich white people
15. Question everything, especially yourself.
That's cool, but that doesn't automatically mean the answers will be wrong.

No. Shit. Sherlock
17. You don’t have to go out every weekend to have fun.
No. Shit. Sherlock

No, sometimes it means taking it in the pooper

Spoken like a true white girl
20. Inviting your friends over for drinks at your place will save you loads of cash.
Or, don't invite anyone around at all, even cheaper.
21. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes bad decisions lead to great stories.
Accidentally killing someone is bad tho
22. Sometimes your friends don’t need you to make them feel better. If you really care about them, learn to be with them when they’re sad too.
I feel like if you can't hack your friends when they're down, you aren't really their friend.
23. If you’re not sure if you’re in a relationship, ask.
Or, just be more upfront in general.
24. Don’t move in with your partner just because you can’t afford to live on your own.
Stop being poor.
25. Drink less and read more.
World problems solved......
26. Spend less money on stuff and more money on traveling.
How about no? If I like things, why is it so bad for me to like things? Not everyone wants to travel, and pretending that people are lesser beings for not wanting to makes you a douche.
27. Don’t be so intense with that person you like.
That's how restraining orders get started
28. Ask your parents for more stories from the past. It will make you wiser and it will make them happier.
Ask them about how you were conceived
29. Almost no one cares about your personal life. But if you think about it, that’s actually kind of freeing.
No. Shit. Sherlock.
30. Take risks and ignore anyone who tries to stop you.
Yes, go and jump off a bridge and break your neck, even if the Policeman says you can't.
31. You don’t have to be rich to travel, just creative.
Money helps a shitload though.
32. But always make sure to ask the locals if it’s safe to catch a ride.
Or don't?
33. Make a to-do list every day. You’ll get a lot more done, and then have a lot more free time.
Or just do stuff and quit wasting time making lists
34. Start exercising now. The longer you put it off, the harder it will be.
No. Shit. Sherlock.
35. Don’t be so hard on yourself, even when you make mistakes. But always take responsibility for your actions.
No. Shit. Sherlock
36. Life is better than you even realize. You’ll figure it out eventually.
What a comfort
37. Stop comparing yourself to others.
Easier said than done nitwit
38. It’s okay to follow the rules…until you’re the one making the rules.
But don't forget to always take risks and ignore people that tell you not to
39. Be as spontaneous as you can as often as you’re able to.
Because people love hanging around someone that's like Jim Carrey on crack
40. Don’t live life inside your head.
You're obliged to, it's where all human thought comes from.
41. Do what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
Easier said than done.
42. Nothing that’s easy is worth it.
I've heard that said in Rape trials

No. Shit. Sherlock
44. Don’t worry about meeting someone else’s expectations. Meet yours.
No. Shit. Sherlock
45. Try not to worry too much if people don’t fully understand you.
Or, maybe be more communicative and talk to people instead of keeping them guessing?
46. If your partner insists on leaving, don’t waste time trying to convince them to stay.
Durr, easier said than done though.
47. Don’t reject opportunities just because they take you out of your comfort zone.
No. Shit. Sherlock
48. Don’t make internal sacrifices for external things. Try to live the other way round.
This makes no sense.
49. Be patient with your parents. They’ve been patient with you your entire life.
You try talking to my Dad about computers, then you'll realise how wrong this advice is.
50. Always, always try to be nicer than is necessary.
Easier said than done.
51. The world will try to suppress the things about you that make you unique. Don’t let it.
Oh fuck off....there is no big lie, there is no system, the universe is indifferent.
52. Focus on being yourself and don’t waste time trying to be perfect.
No. Shit. Sherlock
53. Learn to do more things on your own. Learn to be alone.
No. Shit. Sherlock.
54. Life isn’t a race, so take your time.
But never forget you could always die tomorrow

8. A homecooked meal is cheaper and more attractive than taking your date to a restaurant.
"Yeah, I thought we'd have dinner in the basement for a change. Go on, after you."
13. Accept and nurture the stuff you’re passionate about, even if it’s weird. In fact, the weirder, the better.
Let them out of the basement occassionally though. Sunlight helps keep them healthy, so you get to "hang out" more.
14. Try to live and work outside the country you grew up in for a while.
Keep them on a leash when you let them out so you don't have to do this.
15. Question everything, especially yourself.
And answer with a resounding 'No! Shut up. I'm not listening to you. Mom said you're not real!'
18. Sometimes love isn’t enough to make a relationship work, and that’s OK.
That's what rope is for.
22. Sometimes your friends don’t need you to make them feel better. If you really care about them, learn to be with them when they’re sad too.
And they'll be sad alright.
23. If you’re not sure if you’re in a relationship, ask.

"Almost no one cares about your personal life. But if you think about it, that’s actually kind of freeing."

This is a fucking dumb statement because it is so subjective of both your experiences and views and anyone else's experiences and views that 'almost no-one' encompasses nearly everyone you'll ever meet, and I think very few of those people will give a shit about someone who is virtually a complete stranger.
And if you mean your friends in this, random person interviewed by the garbage that is buzzfeed, you have got some really fucking shit friends
