Can be anything from playing to listening.

Mine. Yesterday. Found out a song i have loved for 18 years isnt done by the band i thought. Its done by a band ive never even fucking heard of. Felt unbelievably stupid.

At age 13 i thought bass meant the big drum on a drum set. Lol. Those are my dumbest moments. How bout yours?

I got really really into Get Crunk at one point (brokencyde)

I can't stand it now but for some reason the synth thing in the intro got me going

How old were you when you grew out of metal?

I once tried to record an improv song

with multiple tracks of guitars improvising

and then I was going to send it to a drummer

to also improvise

I lost interest partway around the time where I realized that was a horrible idea

I didn't skip class freshman year of college to go see Rush, even though I had three unexcused absences left.

"They'll be touring once I'm out of school, I can see them then."

They retired halfway into my senior year.

While on a drinking binge, I bought an album called Hollow by Howie Beck when I thought I was buying a Beck Hanson album. To make it even worse I thought it was a new album of his. I listened to it for a week before one of my friends asked who the hell it was. He told me I had the wrong Beck. I was the laughing stock in the group for a while after that one.

Was it a good album though?

One time I was like, "I think I'm gonna take up guitar as a hobby. In time, I will have spent a lot of money on guitar equipment," and now I'm out like 15 grand.

Started playing under the bridge intro to a school of about 500 people, thought I was out of tune, panicked and then just stopped playing for the rest of the intro until the rhythm part started. So for a good 15 seconds there was just bass and drums, while everyone imagined what the guitar would sound like if I wasn't such a twat.

Erm...

I remember when first learning guitar, I had NO idea how you made that 'chcka chcka' sound in between chords for the intro riff of Smells Like Teen Spirit - I still remember my elation when I finally did it one day, purely as an accident.

I've paid money to see Razorlight, Panic! At the Disco and Shinedown.

I also used to think 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' was by Bob Marley (as opposed to Bobby McFerrin), but I think everyone did at some stage in their life. Oh and I also used to think 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley was actually called 'Don't Worry About a Thing'

I don't miss those days at all.

Finding out after playing the intro to Sweet Child of Mine for nearly 15 years I had been playing one note wrong because I tried to make the riff easier for myself when I was starting out and completely forgot to correct in later years. Typical that it had to be a grade 8 pianist would almost immediately pick it out.

I didn't know what palm muting was when I first started, so I thought that you had to have a nicer guitar.
