I ordered a British Mullard 12ax7 rebranded as an RCA online for $40. I got it yesterday and I put it in my Vox VT40+ amp. Really sound good and has the creamy 3D tone.

A tube guy on another forum saw the pics I posted and he said that it's an RFT made in East Germany. He IDed it by the guts and says the labels means nothing.

Anyone knows what he's talking about?

Yeah, it is. Two has confirmed it and I notified the vendor. He said he thought it was a Mullard, I guess he went by the writings as you can see. I told him I'm not complaining because this tube does sound sweet.

I also heard that the RFT 12ax7 is one of the favs for audio amps.

RFT are the dark tubes of the NOS world. They work best in overly bright amps.
