Hi, i'm looking to buy an acoustic guitar for around 300 euros and i've narrowed it down to these 2.
The FG800 has solid spruce top and laminated nato sides and back while the CD140S has solid mahogany top and laminated mahogany sides and back. I know FG850 is also full mahogany but here in europe it costs 440 euro while the CD140S costs 280.

The CD140S has been out for many years so it should be well known around here, the FG800 came out last year but it seems to be getting very nice reviews. I know the best way to find the answer would be to try them both but unfortunately i live in a small town and there are no stores around, i just want to buy the best guitar my budget allows.

GC links with more details:

(ignore the pricing, here in europe both cost around $300)

Any help deciding would be appreciated, maybe there's someone around that actually knows them both. Thanks!
I would go with the Yamaha, purely on reputation. Also mahogany tops have to be very well done to have a sound that I like, so I wouldn't buy one without trying it.

i had Chance to play full mahagony Sigma guitars ( Dreadnought and the om ). i would highly recommend on the Sigmas.
they imo sounded even better than the expensive martins...

I've also played a few Sigmas and thought that they were very good, including the mahogany-topped models.
