So I'm trying to get this dark kinda relic look on my REALLY white squier neck and I saw this thing where a guy rubbed tea leaves into the grain and it really made the grain pop is this a good idea should I try or no?

if the wood is un-finished then it should work okay. but if it has a clear coat over it, it probably wont do much except fill in where there are scratches.

With a maple neck, just leave it in direct sunlight. Maple reacts to the light and darkens over time turning more yellow.

Source: I work in cabinet manufacturing, we have issues once in a while with maple and cherry wood with light damage.
