My 2016 was extremely bad because of that NBA Finals loss and many other things happened to me.

-Sharks lost the NHL Finals
-Got involved with some self-respect employees at work
-Donald Trump won the election
-Too many remastered Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games I've already owned and played
-Too many pointless remakes/reboots of movies from the past
-Lack of good movies
-Prince, Carrie Fisher and Lemmy died
-I edged, masturbated and relapsed over and over again and again and trying to stay away from Internet porn as possible, since I've discovered NoFap

Your 2016 was so bad because the team that won last year, and had a .890 winning percentage in the regular season lost this time around. What'd you do, bet your mother's life on it?

I'm actually just following the trend here. I complain about life in general rather than look back and condense it into a single year. >_>

Pretty great. Other than getting a raise and finishing up with uni stuff, nothing really big happened. However, I was genuinely happy for the whole year, spent really good times with friends and family, just now had one of the best Christmas with all my family that I'll remember for a long time. At work I'm doing great, I love it there too. Also started doing some meditation and introspection and ended up better than before.

If there's anything to complain about it's minor, or at most it'd be improvements on my personal life that don't really impact my current happiness (but would make me happier if I had them, hopefully next year).
So yeah, pretty good

Bad points: It drove me fucking mental doing those things

Good stuff: Went on a ripper holiday, currently dating a really nice gril, started really getting back into music again.

Bad stuff: I think my mental health may be declining a bit, but too chicken shit to get it checked out, stuck in this town because of some dumb shit I did at work, broke my favourite mug.

I mean it could be worse

At least the Indians weren't defending champs who had have a two-time reigning MVP

Who had just won the first ever unanimous MVP award

And set a record for most wins ever

And were constantly compared to the consensus greatest team in history

And were a win away from delivering on the second straight championship and locking themselves in as the best team ever

Three times

Against a team they swept in the regular season by a combined score of 221-181

Do not let the fact that the Indians blew a 3-1 lead in the World Series distract you from the fact that the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals

-spends an entire year whining about their 2015 finals loss cause of injuries
-wins their first ever title by defeating an injured team in the 2016 finals
-spends an entire summer gloating about the 3-1 comeback
-blows a 3-1 world series lead against the biggest losers in north american sports

it is not just celeb deaths of course.

2016 had some good things going for it -- cubs won the world series, dylan won the nobel prize, joe biden memes -- and it wasn't a BAD year for me, personally.

had a certain thing that I won't mention gone differently, I would have felt pretty good about it overall, tbh.

But their recognition has been emphasized/revived as a result.

In my case, 2016 has had crappy events but for the most part I've been able to take it and in other cases great things have happened so I'm good. Some celebrities I liked a lot passed on (namely Bowie, Emerson and Wilder) but I graduated college and released a debut album and went on tour with a band.

2016 was tolerable. It was a regular crappy year until about October and then I started being a bit more productive and now I think I have a real platform to build on for next year.
I have nothing important to say

Mine was really not good. The theme of this year was Doing All The Right Stuff Through Self-Discipline And Empathy and Smart Planning Will Get You Out Of Bed But Nowhere Else. It was the theme of the election too. It's like the world (as well as myself) is slowly trying to bury me and it's no wonder I've had dreams of literal live burial.

Still I guess what 2016 taught me is that tomorrow's always gonna be slightly more difficult to navigate. Common wisdom about everything being easier by the day if you engage in it was patently false this year. I dunno what I was hoping for, some sort of karmic balance I guess.

What I got this year: I am no longer suicidal and have found things to engage and look forward to. I've set plans and worked on them and although they failed, I approached those failures practically and it wasn't until this morning that I sort of indulged that sense of hapless dread.

But pretty soon I'm gonna run out of secondary options to settle for. That's gonna be 2017.

It's been pretty good for me. Got a new job and made a load of new friends from there, plus I'm actually making a decent wage now and not fearing being stuck in a supermarket for the rest of my days. Also had quite a fun year in regards to trips away/holidays/nights out and stuff like that.

It certainly hasn't been a bad year.
The plan was to drink until the pain over.
But what's worse, the pain or the hangover?
Who am I? I'm a titan so be expectin' a clash.

Overall

I can't complain but sometimes I still do.

okay I guess

saw a lot of shows and had a good time and a lot of laughs at most of them (eg highlight in the last month was getting caught out on stage at etid in between songs, having the guitarist make me take my shirt off while the singer chatted about me and them holding off starting the song until I stage dived (never got that shirt back but I caught a drumstick at the end and had caught the guitarist's baseball cap at a show earlier in the year, so fair trade I guess)), hung out with a lot of people instead of being totally antisocial/inward looking but kept them all at arms length because fuck getting hurt again after getting too attached to people haha, read a whole bunch of books, played some fun video games, enjoyed some decent movies/musicals/plays, took on a load more responsibility at work for no notable pay increase, bought some cool stuff for myself, ate and drank well, had a lot of static/stagnation in parts of my life I'd prefer to see moving forward but I didn't have anything hugely unpleasant happen to me.

never did as much of the fun stuff as I'd like but it'll always be that way. main thing is I'm reasonably content with who I am and things in my life like personal relationships and career could be better but the current state of those things aren't making me miserable.
O.K.

Working night shift, I mainly remember sleeping and working and fucking my schedule up on the weekends and having terrible Sunday nights/monday mornings. So overall it wasnt great and I expect the same for 2017.

Key points tho:
-got hired in at my job right at the beginning of the year (was a temp for 8 months)
-went to Gulfport MS, and then east to Orange Beach, AL on a little vacation
-went to Chattanooga, TN on vacation and did all the attractions
-started renting my own place.
-bought my first 7 string and had a lot of fun with it. Bought another 7 string after that.

Idk that's all I really remember.
