Hi! I'm currently building a guitar and I'm having trouble finding the right depth to cut the hole my bolt-on neck will go into as I'm using a design that does not have details like this specified. The bridge I'm using is an Ibanez gibraltar if that helps.
Thanks in advance!
Who needs shred when you've got rhythm guitar? :^)
Guitars:
Jackson King V (With a Wilde L500XL in the bridge)
Ibanez Iron Label RGIX27FEQM (7-string)

If
a = action at end of neck
b = height of bridge (more accurately, the saddle height above the body of the guitar)
d = depth of pocket
n = depth of neck at pocket

d = a + n - b

eg: a = 2mm, b = 12mm, n = 24mm so, d = 2 + 24 - 12 = 14mm

Of course, this doesn't help you with any neck angle you may require. If you really want to know what's going on, try drawing it out full size - or at least, accurately.
