Do the quiz and post your result.

For me:

Result: the class group you most closely match is:

Emergent service workers

This class group is financially insecure, scoring low for savings and house value, but high for social and cultural factors. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

Are young
Enjoy a cultured social life
Rent their home - almost 90%

emergent if I consider my living situation as renting
established middle class if I consider it as owning a house (I live at home but help out and will probably take/buy the place once my parents retire to the country)

also I can tick all the boxes except for "visit stately homes" (because that shit is boring) in the cultural section because all my money that should be going into savings ends up going into doing cool stuff all the time

social questions are a bit fucky because most of my social contacts these days are from people I meet at gigs and people online. with former at least, I'm often surprised by when I find out what someone does in their day job.
O.K.

Now I can finally discard Chris' opinions as he's part of the liberal metropolitan elite.

New affluent workers

It says I'm sociable, have lots of cultural interests and come from a working class background, all of which is not true
I have nothing important to say

Emergent Service Worker as apparently renting your own place to live makes you a europoor regardless of how much money you actually earn.

Pffft. At least Europoor generally have decent healthcare. Renting isn't so bad.

I had a very middle class upbringing but failed to take advantage of the opportunities that brought so my living situation is very much working class now although i don't have a traditional working class job, just a low-paying admin job.

Actually its been pointed out time and time again that I have no class what so ever. Which I guess you could say puts me in a Class of my own
#32
Socially, middle class, but I tend to act lower. Financially middle class if you count my parents. Student class if you don't.

I was raised amongst public school kids and boarding school kids. I can kind of identify with either.

quiz says im precariat.

in reality im upper class but culturally middle class. as a young kid i was middle class but culturally lower class.
#38
WCPhils

we are the same way we just dont say it outright

for example instead of saying "im upper class" it's "i'm middle class" followed by "ugh tap water" and "ugh public schools"

edit: to clarify i think there is a very conscious but not directly stated effort americans make to identify with a certain class and it's not really "we're all middle class", not even in perception.

What makes you upper class? In the UK that's aristocrats, nobility, royalty etc. Not simply "rich".
