Hi,
I decided to buy a new guitare because my music taste changed a lot and I want to have a Les Paul. My current guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica(https://www.thomann.de/gb/yamaha_pacifica_112v_bl.htm).

So basically there are 2 options a Gibson or a Epiphone guitar. I read in the forum/internet that basically a Gibson is better than a Epiphone(most of the time) but it is far more expensiv. Now I don't know if I should buy a Epiphone or a low end Gibson(limit at 1100 Euros ~1170 Dollars).

Is it better if i buy a Epiphone and save some money to buy a new amp, because my current one isn't that goodhttps://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hb80r.htm or should I buy a low end Gibson.

I already choose some guitars which i consider to buy, here are my findings

Epiphone
https://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_les_paul_tribute_plus_ms.htm
https://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_lp_standard_plus_tb.htm
or should I take a one of the 100 anniversity edition?
https://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_bjorn_gelotte_les_paul_custom.htm (you can change the modell at right upper corner)

The blue guitars just look so awesome(I like the look of the tribute plus a little bit more and there is even a case delivered with it).

Gibson

https://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_les_paul_tribute_seb.htm
https://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_les_paul_faded_hp_2017_wb.htm

I like to play alot Green Day, Blink182, Sum41, Rise Against, Billy Talent,... I also play some metal(Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, System of a Down,..), rock(AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Halestorm,....) and blues. I want to play in a band but I am not in one and I'm a hobby musician

Can you guys please help me to pick the best guitare for me and sorry for my bad english I'm trying my best.

Thanks in advance

Does it absolutely have to be a Gibson or an Epiphone?

Because if you have a budget of 1100 Euros, you can buy a lower end FGN.

These guitars will absolutely smoke Epiphones and Gibsons in the same price range.

However, I get the sentiment that you want to buy a better amp. In which case, settling with an Epiphone Tribute and using the other $600 for a better amp might be a very viable option.

And well yes, I'll enjoy the carpal tunnel and tendonitis, because trying to get one is clearly smarter than any word you have spoken thus far.

Thanks for your fast reply.
I will definetly look at some fgn guitars. Are there any amps that you could suggest me for 200-400 Euros or which brand I should buy

I suppose it depends on what would excite you more; getting a far better guitar, a far better amp (you can get a truly kickass amp for 1100 euros) or a compromise between the two.

You can get a Marshall DSL40c combo and an Epiphone Tribute for approximately 1100-1200 euros

You might want to upgrade the speaker somewhere down the line, but once you do that, you'll end up with a pretty sweet little rig.

mossi1998031 It isn't too bad an amp for what it is, but it is very limited in terms of the range of tones you can get from it, I wouldn't recommend it.

It won't be able to do high gain tones well either. Just not enough gain on tap and the amp's preamp design is just not conducive towards that kind of sound.

^ Jet City. Though I said that already in your other thread about the amps specifically.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
