So I've been playing for quite a while now, but I've never really used pinch harmonics. My issue is that I can't switch between artifical harmonics and normal notes quickly and consistently. I was wondering if any of you have any help regarding certain exercises. I think part of my issue is sliding my hands up to choke up on the pick. Is this what you are supposed to do, or are you supposed to keep your picking hand in a position where you can always pick artifical harmonics?
I think it's generally better to keep your picking in a position where a pinch harmonic is always possible, mainly because I'm of the opinion that you should keep your technique as consistent as possible at all times so you always have as many options open to you as you can.
