the tunes on my good ol' MIM are occasionally slipping and are just starting to get worn out. they appear to be the same pattern as my USA tele.

so i am considering blacking out the tele with new tuners that will directly fit, and take the tunersfrom the tele and putting them in the strat.

thoughts? recommendations? I don't want to drill. that is the most important thing.

WDMusic is a possibility. See also Greasy .groove, Q Parts, & Stewmac.

I'm pretty sure all would have black Tele tuners.

If not, chew me out in another post and I'll check some of the other places I know.

chomp chomp. haha.

I want to be sure I get a direct swap that is my main concern. And again, the tuners are coming off of the Telecaster and going on to the Stratocaster so that the Telecaster will have brand new black tuners.

WDMusic is where I'd look first. I noticed they're very precise on their pickguards, for instance- number of screws, which ones fit Fender (not Squier) only, etc.

So how much you wanna spend?   As it has generic Sperzels on it from the factory you could swap them out for a genuine set,  Or maybe some nice Klusons,  If on a budget you could always slap another set of generics on it for about $20 bucks,
