Hi everyone,

I recently just purchased a Line 6 Pod HD500x. I love it, I dont think I'll live long enough to figure the whole thing out lol

I am looking for some great custom tone suggestions, I play music along the lines of Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, God is an Astronaut, etc.
I also use it for praise and worship, I've gotten a few off of the custom tone site but they're all kind of "similar" and dont really sound that great.
Do you guys have any personal favorites?

Also, I am trying to replicate a modulated reverb, similar to the Boss RV5. Can this be done on the HD500x?

Sometimes my patches hit the "DSP overload" problem, is there a way to avoid this when using alot of effects?

Thanks!

Can't answer your other questions but I have a few separate pedals in the chain to avoid any DSP problems.

xbouncer927. This is the patch I was using when I used to play at a church. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/859929/

You have many options to choose on the HD500x. You'll just have to go through them all and see what you like. I spent so much time fiddling with settings I eventually got rid of the HD500x. I prefer a simple setup.

Also, use the editing software. On the mixer, it automatically pans hard left and right. Center those if you're not using a stereo setup. Sometimes, fewer effects are better. Start by finding an amp that you like without any effects. Add effects one by one.

Love the preset. I guess Im really looking to emulate this sound with the POD... like the lush, modulated reverb and nice sounding delays. Ihavent been able to accomplish it yet but here's to wishful thinking

xbouncer927 The patch I posted can do this to an extent. Use the hall reverb with delay. You may have to change the times on the delay. Also use the wah pedal as a volume pedal. You'll have to do some editing with the software. Save the original patch to two different slots so you don't lose the first one while tweaking.

Try YouTube. I get a lot of setting ideas there.

I hear on that one. I'm no metal guy either. But they're out there. Try DeWayne delaune I think that's his name. Or type in POD clean.
