I'm building a frankenstrat inspired guitar, and I ordered a kit from Aliexpress because left handed parts are hard/expensive to come by. So I get the guitar and the bridge is really high. But when I lower it down to the body, the strings are literally laying on the frets with no space at all. With the bridge up acting as a floating Floyd basically, I was able to get it in tune fine but its not supposed to that way. The pic I posted is the height it played best at with little buzz. I measured the heel of the neck and its about 1 or 1.5mm thicker than standard strat specs. I guess what I'm wondering is where do I start in figuring out whats wrong?

You may need to change the neck angle. If it's a bolt-neck, that involves shimming it at the neck pocket so that the nut end is a bit higher.
