I'm looking into getting an ESP E-II horizon. How's the ebony fretboard ? How's the action ?
The action is solely a function of the guitar's setup. So asking that question is pretty nonsensical.

I think the board on the E-II's is slightly polished to almost a glossy look. It did have a couple of brown mineral streaks on the last one I played, but the surface was very smooth. Nice guitar, heavily considered getting it.

My M-1 has a bit of a glossiness to the ebony. It came from the factory with a very low action.
The ESP E-II ebony boards have a lacquer coating on them. Like a Fender USA maple neck strat or tele. It's not bare/raw ebony... there is a coating on the fretboard. They are nice... just different feel from raw unlaquered ebony.
