Sad day for comedy. I always found it funny that he smiled in photos so frequently. Most comic's off stage demeanor is serious, angry, and misanthropic. I just never got that vibe out Don Rickles. A bitter old man that seemed glad to be here.

One of the comedic greats died today. Described by Letterman as, "delightfully hostile". Rest in peace.

Don Rickles not an angry misanthrope?

Now that's comedy.

RIP though, funny guy. Could roast with the best of them.

TIL smiling in photos means you're a swell guy.

Rickles was one of the honest to God best there ever was at what he did. Not just a comic, but a roaster, a man that could shit inside of your soul, but more than anything, a kind down to earth guy that never took for granted that he was one of the guys

He hasn't been funny in about 20 years.

Adam Sandler?  He wasn't funny twenty years ago.

Rickles was funny.  He struck me as being one of those people who was born 40 years old.  R.I.P., man.  Thanks for the laughs.
