I've been playing hard rock on my Es in my band for a few months now, and I think it sounds fantastic, having a rich, throaty tone. I wanted to really start experimenting though, I was wondering, if I was to swap them out, what kinda pickups would be best to replace with the stocks that came with the guitar, that would be best for playing hard rock and some metal, whithout removing the guitars ability to have a really bright and clean tone.
Metal on a semi-hollow body, yes, I know, im crazy. Sounds ace though.
Thanks!

Yes, the JB/Jazz will do it, and certainly for classic metal. For more modern metal, look at the Sentient/Pegasus combo.
