Prog metal done right: lighter on prog and heavy on riffs and atmosphere. There's also impressive neoclassical technicality in the soloing, coupled with conceptual novel-esque lyrical storytelling rivaling King Diamond and also shades of Edgar Allen Poe. I feel like I've been transported to a haunted Victorian estate. The band is somewhat of a super group, and it's unclear as to whether they will continue making music under this name because I think the drummer died before its release. Nocturnes and Requiems was released earlier this year. Initially, I wasn't sure if I was into it, but after repeated listening it has become one of my favorite albums so far this year.
