What's good

What are some good (preferably free, but I'm not opposed to paying) impulse responses for a good, bright, clean tone?

I have Pulse by Rosen Digital and I use a few of the ENGL sims for high gain tones, but they don't work so great for clean.

Anybody know some good ones?

Thanks bbz

it wouldn't surprise me if UG goes down within the next couple months, along with other privately owned sites

For a low-gain, modern clean tone, I'd say you can even go without an impulse and just soften the high-end with EQ.

For more vintage type, I usually use either

- A free Orange 2 mic Blend,
- Something from this free Redwirez Marshall 1960A library, http://www.redwirez.com/free1960g12m25s.jsp
It's quite big library though, might take time to find what you like best

I haven't had issues with clean guitar, usually just whatever comes with my software works great (Ampire from Studio One). I also have Fender Amplitube which sounds very good clean or slightly pushed. The NI Guitar Rig free default speaker also sounds very good clean. Try Voxengo Boogex as it also has some free IRs, also try these:

Hiwatt, AC30, Jazz Chorus

I've been using Ampire for lean a lot lately as well. Something about the cleans in that VST are quite nice.
