 Kill It All

Fuck you
I am the law
And I'll kill it all
Walk away with a story to tell

I wish I could kill
No shit
No trouble
Goddamn cut it
Cut this like nothing

Paint me blue
Give me a gun
And a license to kill
I will shoot
To empty the clip
To empty the life
I'm fearless, but fearful of you
Hands off
Hand it off
Bury those you love

Fuck you
I'll still kill it all
Walk away with a story to tell

Paint me blue
Flinch for a click
Full-auto trigger finger
My cold heart races
Like the bullets
In my clip
Empty it, 'cause
I'm a blue pussy, but
You're face-down, lit

Empty your life
Gotta fear for mine

Fuck you, authority with my vest
I'll still kill it all
Walk away with a story to tell

Wish I could kill
No shit
No trouble
Goddamn cut it
Cut this like nothing

Fuck you, I am the law
I'll still kill it all
Fuck you, I am the law
I'll still kill it all
Fuck you, I am the law
I'll still kill it, kill it all

Yeah, Fuck you I'll still kill it all
Walk away with a story

Walk away with blood on the ground
I'll be shakin'
Then relax behind a chair and desk
Behind public relations
Retire and die peacefully in my sleep
A passive end for an aggressive man

The one who said
I am the law
Fuck you
I'll kill it all

Usually, works that feature a repetition of "fuck you" in any capacity are churlish bits of adolescent rage, but that's not what you have going on here. I get the message being sent and the reasons behind it. Anyone who has kept up with the news can relate. The writing is definitely blunt, but sometimes you need a punch in the face. My complaint is that it's a bit too direct, but the racing of the speaker's heart matching the rate of fire of the standard-issue handgun is an artful touch. A smidgen more of that would give this more color.

What can I say? This isn't the most articulate piece, but the form fits the function. Again, the music could be great. Cheers.

I was listening to a Rage Against the Machine during the initial piece, and looking at some stuff on officers that should have been convicted and walked out free. It was something that just rolled out and had a few tweaks to make it congeal.

Aye, I figured it was something of that or similar ilk. There's messing up your job so much that it makes others of the same profession look bad, and there's grave injustice that defiles the very essence of the uniform. Gotcha.
