Pit Regular ali.guitarkid7 has been banned and this time it seems like it'll be permanent. After returning from a ban he lashed out at moderators and even made a multi, so it seems like we've seen the last of him. The original reason for his ban is unknown to me, but from context clues it seems to have stemmed from a long time feud.

I've generally had positive interactions with him and appreciated his point of view, given his situation. It's safe to say that he was a polarizing figure who took things too far some times, but we all do and it's about learning when to dial it back, online and in real life. I hope the best for him.

Now taking eulogies, positive or negative.

R.I.P. ali.guitarkid7

Kind of sucks. I had a strong antipathy and aversion for him for quite some time during some heated moments in #usa2016 and other breads, but he seemed to have gotten along better with me in the past few months, and more pleasent in general, and it was like a love/hate thing. He was breddy smart (besides what he diagreed with me on) and contributed a lot of good posts.

Maybe one day we'll meet some new user that totally won't be him, since no users have ever done that before... >_>

One of the best users here, he certainly helped change my views on some subjects, which in turn has made me a better, less bitter person

Yeah inb4 Ali.guitar.man shows up

it's a shame he's banned, he was a bit argumentative at times but he was very knowledgeable and always had something to add to discussions and i think i learnt a few things from reading his posts from time to time

whoah what was his multi??

I liked ali -- I was not aware of him -- or I guess just ignored him -- for the earlier part of his sojourn here, but for the past couple years he was part of the handful of regulars whom I genuinely liked -- even though I couldn't care less about cultural marxist approaches to video games lmao. I hope he succeeds in his future endeavors & gets to come to the USA one day.

his multi was Baby Joel [cc]

Iunno, he always seemed the dramatic type. Not that I disliked him but it was very easy not remember the best of him.

I liked him when he was sane but it was tedious to run into another 'ali vs the world' argument pretty much every day.

What was he so pissed about that he got angry enough to get perma'd?

He was an interesting guy. He could be a bafflingly stubborn jackass sometimes, and I had my disagreements with him, but overall he was pretty alright, and the more I interacted with him the more it felt like we actually had a fair amount in common. Shame he won't be around anymore.

He never came to me when I would call
Unless I had a tennis ball,
Or he felt like it,
But mostly he didn't come at all.

When he was young

He never learned to heel
Or sit or stay,
He did things his way.

Discipline was not his bag
But when you were with him things sure didn't drag.
He'd dig up a rosebush just to spite me,
And when I'd grab him, he'd turn and bite me.

He bit lots of folks from day to day,
The delivery boy was his favorite prey.
The gas man wouldn't read our meter,
He said we owned a real man-eater.

He set the house on fire
But the story's long to tell.
Suffice it to say that he survived
And the house survived as well.

On the evening walks, and Gloria took him,
He was always first out the door.
The Old One and I brought up the rear
Because our bones were sore.

He would charge up the street with Mom hanging on,
What a beautiful pair they were!
And if it was still light and the tourists were out,
They created a bit of a stir.

But every once in a while, he would stop in his tracks
And with a frown on his face look around.
It was just to make sure that the Old One was there
And would follow him where he was bound.

We are early-to-bedders at our house--
I guess I'm the first to retire.
And as I'd leave the room he'd look at me
And get up from his place by the fire.

He knew where the tennis balls were upstairs,
And I'd give him one for a while.
He would push it under the bed with his nose
And I'd fish it out with a smile.

And before very long
He'd tire of the ball
And be asleep in his corner
In no time at all.

And there were nights when I'd feel him
Climb upon our bed
And lie between us,
And I'd pat his head.

And there were nights when I'd feel this stare
And I'd wake up and he'd be sitting there
And I reach out my hand and stroke his hair.
And sometimes I'd feel him sigh
and I think I know the reason why.

He would wake up at night
And he would have this fear
Of the dark, of life, of lots of things,
And he'd be glad to have me near.

And now he's dead.
And there are nights when I think I feel him
Climb upon our bed and lie between us,
And I pat his head.

And there are nights when I think
I feel that stare
And I reach out my hand to stroke his hair,
But he's not there.

Oh, how I wish that wasn't so,
I'll always love a dog named ali.guitarkid7.

I thought he died a while back so I was glad to see he's alive when I came back to the Pit. I don't care for the political posts but historically I've always had a good experience with him.

He had a really terrible, stubborn attitude at times and he obviously learned nothing from being banned.

I would sponsor an H-1B visa for him and we could laugh over a couple of brews with StewieSwan

In exchange for my generosity of affording him the privilege of stepping foot into the US, he has to declare very loudly: "I am a false profit and social justice is a superstition."

if Ali was here he would appreciate the reference

I remember the first time I saw him go full argument was when some veteran (I think Dreadnought) was saying how these guys in a video saying "allahu ackbar" almost the whole time made him feel uneasy due to associations from deployment. Ali went full Ali about it, despite rational discussion from the original party. This was when he still had the Radiohead avatar.
