Im looking for a 1x12 cab to stick a old celestion i have sitting around. Anyone have recommendations of a budget friendly company that makes them? Ive looked over my local craigslist as well as reverb many times but cant find anything. Id really like to get one for less than $200. I have a roll of fabric to put on a screen that i used recovering an old combo.

N8dagreat3 Bugera has the 112TS  for around $160 and Jet City has the JCA12+ for around $150.  They are both made of Plywood and should make good candidates for a speaker swap and are in your budget.

IF you're anywhere near Los Angeles, try WestHillsWood: http://www.westhillswood.com/speaker-cabinet.html
TRM has some that would fill the bill (you finish 'em): http://www.trmguitarcabs.com/index.html
Rawcabs? http://www.rawcabs.com/Welcome_page.html
Maybe Mojotone? http://www.mojotone.com/Cabinets_x/Cabinets_xx#/

Best deal I ever got was in a bar one night. The guy blew his speaker and was going crazy about, I bought him a shot, gave him $20 and out the door I went. Nice cabinet. I got a 10" Blue Marvel for a Peavey Classic 20 and put it in. This is the cab I use for my VHT. Got maybe $80 in it.

Did you want a complete cab with functioning speaker to swap out, or are you just looking for a box into which you'll place the speaker and do your own wiring, etc.?

Because if it's the latter:

Id really like a cab unloaded. Otherwise ill just end up in the same situation with a speaker i will want to put in a cab. Mojotone has some really cool cabs and the customization is awesome but in the end im looking at around $240 with shipping. Ive read some bad reviews with seismic. Those TRM ones look pretty good.

I've given up on putting Tolex or tweed on speaker cabinets these days. A couple of coats of Duratex put on with one of their rollers looks very tolex-y, will take a lot more abuse (most PA gear is now painted with this stuff) and is extremely easy to repair if it gets dinged, etc. I did take one of the Rawood Thiele cabinets to the Line-X dealer ("You again? Is this gonna be a thing?") and had them hose it down. Nothing short of a MOAB is going to damage that thing.

I've been considering one of these too and the Jet City and Laney IRT112 are up near the top of the cheap list. The Mesa Mini Rec Slant 112 is at the top of the hope I don't get divorced for this list.
Guitars:
Jackson Kelly KE3 - MIJ (Distortion/Jazz)
Jackson DKMGT Dinky (EMG 81/85)
ESP E-II Eclipse Custom (JB/'59)

Amps:

anyone use avatar cabs? I found one for $180 with a speaker. They seem to be higher end.

My guitar teacher uses an Avatar cab with a Celestion V30 and it sounds incredible!
A couple of my other friends also uses Harley Benton cabs. Affordable and pretty good too.

Harley Benton 1x12 cabs are supposed to be very decent for the price.
