What am I?
The extension of your ego
Your attempts to live
As an immortal

Will you live forever?
A ghost possessing bodies and glass tombs
Your helix infects me
Not the gift you anticipated
For yourself
Pursuant to perfection
Retry, repeat
Chasing this insanity of purity

Thy name is vanity
So in love with yourself
Rejecting your blood
Idealize your image
Again and again
The next step will be perfection
Delude yourself
Again and again
With sugar bathed strychnine

Burn
Set ablaze and consume
Your twisted legacy
The shattered mirror
Now displays the accurate me
I can only mask so long
This loathing
I breathe

You loved yourself
Down to the gene
Rejecting impurity
Now, I can carry this legacy
Scorching the earth, emblazing the sky
I am the harbinger
I will see to the end of desires
Right now

Ah, another strong piece. Lots of fun stuff here. Sugar-bathed strychnine. Insanity of purity. Well done. My minor gripe (saw it coming, eh?) is the mixed message of being immortal and also a ghost. Another word might work better, like virus or possessor. That's all. Thematically, this works otherwise, an obsession with evolutionary perfection of the sorts. Kudos, cheers, and have a good weekend!

Thanks!

I based this off the main antagonist from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Rau Le Creuset (allegedly: the Crucible) who is an imperfect clone of an egotistical politician who spurned his own son. He goads the two major factions into war to annihilate each other, believing himself only fit to judge them. He's really screwy, but entirely terrifying in his end goal.

Edit: For reference of the character--
