So it's been a few days since I've started acoustic guitar, and I'm way excited. I've played trumpet for about 7 years now and love it. It's always fun learning a new instrument, and i'm already having a blast. I can't wait to develop my skills further on acoustic.
Well, welcome to UG Bryant, it's always nice to hear a new voice around here, as it were.

Now where was I. OK, (And I sincerely mean no disrespect by what I'm about to say), the trumpet is completely useless outside of an orchestral or band setting.

Consequently, I'm going to suggest you undertake a couple of other things on your musical journey. First, try and learn to sing. All the the "guitar gods", can sing to one degree another, and you can't use a trumpet to entertain around a campfire. Nuff said.

Learn the piano while you're at it. It gives you such a great visual display of musical theory, and here again, all you have to know is a few chords, for you and others to sing along with it.
