I got this sweet looking Japanese guitar from a friend for $5. The neat thing is the entire pickguard is solid metal.
I was wondering if anyone knew what brand or the history / year of this guitar? Just to let you know, it has been repainted from red to black.

My next question is, where can I find a bridge for this guitar? as you can see, it is missing the bridge (I think it is a roller bridge). Where would I get a replacement one? Thanks!

How do you know it's Japanese, then?

Looks like some Jazzmaster clone, but I could be wrong. You haven't pulled up the pick guard by chance?

It is possible it's some parts-caster, too.

Teisco made boatloads of guitars with all kinds of labels on them. I had a similar metal guard guitar branded Telestar which iirc, was made by Kawai.

Ebay is a good start for parts. They have a lot.
