Goodness knows the last thing I need is another guitar, but having finally got power and light plumbed into my garage, and having made myself a nice new workbench, it's just asking to be used.

So I've got a bit of something on the go. Progress will be slow and I have another, more straightforward build coming along that I'll need to do, but I've cut a shape from one of the bits of spalted beech I have hanging around.

The plan is to make my own neck for this one, so there'll be some jig and tool making and a few practice runs going on.

I chose them out of the dozen+ sites I shop on because I knew they had good pix of a wide array of their products.

Where are you? Maybe I know a good one closer to you!

....and just looking at my resources, I note that a few sites are no longer active. Here's one that still is, and has great stuff:

The U.K.? You should be able to find good walnut there, as I recall.

Don't know how these guys compare to your sources, but:

Exotic Hardwoods is a fantastic company, especially for tops. JC Tonewoods is great for fingerboards and neck blanks, especially with their eBay offerings. Another good eBay store is Sherwin Timbers.

And let's not forget David Dyke.
