I recently acquired a marshall ds100h half stack. I began to play it at relatively low volume in my bedroom. It was at roughly the same volume as i had my cheap combo amp before. However, my mom feel like here eardrums are vibrating more and just hurts the ears more. Do you think this is placebo effect or a real issue. Can the bigger speakers affect your ears worse even at similar volumes?

It's probably not a "similar" volume.

You might start by isolating the speaker cabinet from the floor. A thick pad of foam or a big thick folded furniture pad will help keep the sound from vibrating the floor (this is called "mechanical coupling)."
