Anyone know if I can do this? As a replacement for a amp head into a cabinet?
I've heard or people doing this with guitar preamps and power amps, but will it work with a microphone power amp and an electric guitar preamp?

What exactly do you mean by a microphone power amp? The only degree of separation for power amps that I would define are SS power amps for live sound reinforcement, and home listening/guitar amp (tube) use. I presume you mean the former. IIRC power amps typically want to see a line level signal for the input, which is the kind of signal a preamp unit will typically output. So you should be fine.

What exact power amp and preamp did you have in mind?

Will Lane I have the Samson servo 120 power amp and was planning on getting a Behringer Ultragain Pro.
