I've noticed a lot of threads that are 8-10 years old are being bumped by newly registered users or spambots, and are locked by moderators shortly after.
Would it be possible to implement some sort of extra comfirmation step to prevent bumping a thread that is over a certain age?

For example, make a pop-up window that says something like "Warning: The last post in this thread was 8 years ago. It is unlikely that it will be read by the original poster. Are you sure you want to create a new post?". Maybe also add a captcha.

h0spid might be a nice idea, what do you think?

Would there be any harm in giving a little bit of leeway as to whether a new discussion on an old thread is valid, as opposed to locking them straight away?
