which do u prefer EL34 OR 6L6 and why
i use 6l6

also i think the power tubes are sovtek(the ones in my amp) tubes if i were to change the tube with a differnt brand would it sound differnt?

I prefer El34s for the midrange presence, earlier breakup and raunchy crunch at high volumes.

Your sound would definately change if you changed the brand of your tubes. I recommend JJ or Svetlana power tubes and Mullard or Electro-Harmonix preamp tubes.

out of my AT100 wat if i used mesa tubes? iv sen a 5150 with mesa tubes

the thing that really gets that "authentic rectifier" sound is that the amps are tube rectified- that is, they use valves to convert the AC current from the wall to the current used for the amp. (they use gz34 tubes from memory-maybe some other kinds too)

yea i do use the tube rectifier on my amp but if i changed the power tubes woudl that make it sound differnt?
