We all know Clapton, Satch, Vai, Hendrix, EVH, Hammet, Slash etc are the heroes of today, but who do you think will be the next round of gods?

My nominee would be Synester GAtes from Avenged Sevenfold, he has some majore talent.

Who do you nominate?

if john mayer stops dicking around and gets his game together i reckon he could be a bit of a force. there's a website where you can listen to some of his live blues stuff and its pretty damn good. anyone got the link?

FINALLY someone else seems to realize John Mayer for the incredible guitar player he is other than just another pop sensation. I've seen this guy play live, he is an incredible, high-quality player.

Omar from Mars Volta for sure. Daron Malakain from SOAD. Maybe Jack White, depending on if his new band works out and he proves that he's more than a one-trick pony.

well i say if hendrix is still here today he would shred the hell out all the likes of vai and satch and others with my respect but all these don't come near hendrix he could play all these styles from blues to jazz till todays shredding and rock in one song so hendrix owns all this.

Yah, no one even mentioned him. He wouldnt shred. He can't shred. He wouldnt be considered shred. And if he never died malmsteen would have never started playing guitar. I dont think he would be as good as vai. Sorry to say.

Graham Coxon ("ex"-blur) he's so underrated

Matt Bellamy

Noel Gallagher, more for his lazy style of melodies than from being an amazing guitarist

Jeff Loomis from Nevermore is bad ass..all of his guitar work puts a alot of other guitarists to shame..

Christian Muenzner and Muhammed Suicmez from Necrophagist..Theyre really ****ing great...It makes me laugh when people actually try and learn theyre songs..If they ever found out that people actually try and learn them they would probably laugh at them for trying..but seriously..best of the best in my eyes..

John Mayer is a helluva blues player..but as stated before..if he stops dickin around he'll get somewhere..

I too am glad to see others realizing that Mayer is just that damn good. His new JM3 Live CD and you gotta hear OUT OF MY MIND... Good Love is on the Way is another damn good song... Every song is amazing with the exception of the new Daughters... While it is good, it should have been left off the cd.

There's a DVD coming out too!!

Muhamid Suicmez or something. I know my spelling is off for sure.

Oh, and even though I am not greatly influenced by him, Michael Amott will probably be considered a hero because of Arch Enemys rising popularity.
