Don't think they have, they've got a few dates still to do this year, but they are an indie "supergroup" so they're probably all going back to their other projects for a while. Shouldn't think 'Twin cinema' will be the last you'll hear of them.

^ I know Neko Case has a solo career going. Other than that I'm not entirely sure.

Neko Case, The Sadies, A.C. Newman and Zumpano are the bands that I know they've been in, I think they're all still going except Zumpano, but I'm not 100% on that.

AC Newman's solo album is supposed to be amazing. Neko Case's is supposed to be pretty good too.

Dan Bejar, a guitarist and second male singer in the group, has destroyer. It was originally his solo project and is now basically a band. check them out.

A.C.Newman's album is practically the New Pornographers anyway- it just doesn't stick to their sort of sound and it uses a lot of world music influences. Neko Case was an alternative/country singer before she was in the NPs, and she still has a solo career as that.

Twin Cinema is a great album. Dan Bejar's three songs on it are awesome, especially Broken Breads.

Can't say I like AC Newman's 'The slow wonder' too much, or Neko Case's 'The tigers have spoken'. That's all I've heard from both of those projects, but it was enough to make me realise they weren't for me.

* "I Wish I Was the Moon" is Neko's best solo effort, IMO.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I am the NP's biggest fan on UG.

Did anyone see that TRL actually did a piece on the New Pornographers on Friday (I think)? Surprised the hell out of me that's for sure. Of course they tried to spin it like no one had heard of them before except them so they were doing us a favor by "introducing" us to them , but it was still pretty cool. Also quite amusing hearing a room full of my friends saying "Huh? The Pornographers? Who the hell are they?"

yeah, that was the case when I saw them too. The new girl they have does a fine job filling in for Neko - not quite the powerhouse Neko is but good all the same. The NPs are sort of a supergroup - pretty much all the members (at least the ones who do most fo the songwriting) have burgeoning solo careers or other bands and I get the impression that The New Pornographers was never really intended/expected to take off the way it has. I wouldn't be surprised if Neko and Dan Bejar officially seperate themselves from the band sometime soon...

no, theyre touring right now.
you may have heard that because theyre a collective; they each have their own musical project as well as being in the group singers dan bejar and neko case both released solo albums this year.

im really pissed off, theyre doing a huge show here, but its no all ages.
i've wanted to see them for a while.

you should check out their first album, mass romantic. the production isnt as good but newman wrote some great songs for it.

Such a good band, really consistent too. I can't decide between Twin Cinema and Mass Romantic for my favourite album. I also saw them live and was expecting both Dan and Neko to be there. Still a great show though, but they didn't play Letter From An Occupant!

Twin Cinema and Mass Romantic are great albums, haven't had the chance to listen to Electric Version thoroughly yet from what I've heard it is just as good. Tracks like Stacked Crooked, Letter From An Occupant and Sing Me Spanish Techno are really amazing

saw them last night, co-headlining with the mountain goats (!) -- WITH Dan and Neko
the venue's sound wasn't that great unfortunately, but it was a fun show anyway

wtf does Dan do backstage in between non-Dan songs? guy doesn't face the crowd when he plays back up guitar either. and when the hell is the new destroyer album
