Man, I thought no one would ever bring them up. An EXTREMELY unappreciated band. Their live stuff is great.

I got the Woodstock DVD where they've got a couple of toons on there, and I have some CDs by them. Bless It's Pointed Little Head is a great album of one of their live concerts.

I'm the only kid in my school who listens to them. They rule. I can't tell their best songs cause there's to many of them.

did you know the major scale on a piano, starting at whatever note (lets say E). you just go straight up the white keys without hitting a black one. and you got the major scale.

same here^^^ if anybody from my school listed to the stuff i listen to they would laugh and try to get me into rap or country

Me too. It is a known fact that I'm the only kid who realy likes Phsychedelic Rock in my school. they all think its to weird. Oh well I go to school with a bunch of latinos (I am half Cuban but I can't speak Spanish to well) and they all listen to their rap and stuff. No country though. Either Rap or Ska....

The Darkness are kind of a classic rock band, despite being a current band, so i though id put it here.

surrealistic pillow has their only singles, somebody to love and white rabbit, so that would be a good start. i would then lean toward volunteers. or you know, just buy a 'best of' cd.

from the bands bio:

Many legendary bands opened for the Airplane: Grateful Dead, Santana, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Janis Joplin, Steve Miller, and many others.

not only do they rock, they're some of the coolest looking guys i've ever seen.

Well as much as i like Somebody to love and white rabbit (both awsome songs) I really like the longer more tripped out songs, like wooden ships and plastic fantastic lover.

Great band, about time someone made a thread about them. Surrealistic Pillow is an awesome album. Im the only one at my school that listens to them too though, which is a shame. They put out alot of great music. My friends, who listen to quite a bit of psychedelic music, won't listen to them.

Great band. Grace Slick is an awesome singer, and uh, lemme get this outta the way... Jack Cassady looks like he's got down syndrome.

I recommend After Bathing At Baxters. After that, Volunteers and Crown Of Creation are both good for different reasons, so you would probably be happy with either, but for the hell of it, I'll recommend Crown. Takes Off is ok, I'd buy it too if I were you, but I'd get those three first.

Here is something interesting, look at the guitarist in this video when it first shows him.

Great band.

My favourite members are Jorma(Lead guitar) Jack(bass). Those two are what makes the band so damn good in my opinion.

And then there's Marty Balin. He has one of the most soulfull voices in rock. He makes up for Grace's voice!

This video is so cool: Jefferson Airplane Rooftop concert

I just downloaded a few of their tracks, and I'm honestly loving them. Any suggestions on what to download/buy?
