Any Blind Melon fans here? They are classified mainly as a one hit wonder for No Rain but they are MUCH more than that. With Shannon Hoon's unique voice and the phenominal guitar work it's a wonder that they didn't become a bigger hit. Then again, Hoon did tragically die of a drug overdose....In my opinion Blind Melon is the most underated band of the 90's, I guess they were just in the wrong time, seeing as how they took their roots mainly from classic rock in a time that was mainly Grunge. Well anyway, are their any fans here?

Yeah, I like them, I saw an hour or two concert of theirs on VH1 rock videos or whatever.... I like that song about Ed Gein the best...MAN that guy can play a mean kazoo.

Hmm I know the kazoo song you're talking about but I never realized it was about Ed Gein! Go figure....
If you've never heard any of their songs in my opinion there is not one bad one on their first album. Here are the top songs for me:
1.I Wonder
2.Change
3.Dear Ol' Dad
4.Tones Of Home
5.Soak the Sin
6.Holyman

I love Blind Melon too! Can you tell me the strum pattern for Change. I can't seem to get it right. It just doesn't sound correct.

First experience of anything Blind Melon was Shannon Hoon singin on a couple of GnR tracks, then I found No Rain, and looked in just a little deeper. I like most of what I've heard though, I remember some killer guitar work on Soak the Sin. They're a pretty god band that I guess I'd like a lot more if I looked a little further into them, might have to do it.

change is my fav blind melon song.

definatly a very underrated band, they sound very poppy-but are actually a very dark and disturbed band when you pay attention to the lyrics.

I've basically only heard No Rain, but I love the song because it brings back a lot of memories of when I was younger.

I understand that this song was different from most of their music, so I'm a bit curious as to what they are actually like, and any recommendations would be great.

My guitar teacher is really into them, I'm probably gonna get some of their stuff soon cause I'm bored with my music right now. Can anybody recommend one of their albums to get started on? And random fact, one of the touring bands that my band played with had a big storage case that used to be Blind Melon's.

I absolutley loved No Rain, great song.

If they have any other songs of that caliber, please tell me.

I love that song too, but I've been told it's quite different from most of their regular material.

I still haven't been able to find any of their albums yet.
