hey everyone, i am expecting a guitarport for x-mas and i will need to pick up a mic myself
now, i was wondering what would be the best choice for under $100?
I've heard many good things about the shure 57, but would a condenser be a better choice
is this a condenser? i am a newbie to recording haha

thanks

A good condenser is better for vocals hands down. I just got a CAD GXL2200 with a shockmount and pop filter for 70 bucks off ebay. I would really check that mic out, it is excellant for vocals. You will need to buy a preamp though if you choose to get a condenser. A good cheap preamp is this http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--BEHMIC100

yes but it might (not sure) be a guitar preamp. So ask the company before you go with a condenser.Condenser is always better for vocals no matter how much more it is than dynamic (in price)
