In your opinion, what's the best guitar stand? I need a new stand for the new guitar and I've heard all sorts of horror stories about how some stands rub off the finish, scratch the guitar, plot against you, etc. Any reccomendations?

Very helpful.

I'll check out the herc stands. Anything else that might be cheaper/better?

Hercules. I use 'em too. They're great.

i like a stand with the Arm up cuz that keep you guitar in place and it avoids that you guitar fall down to the floor...Its safer than a frame low stand.. that my opinion :d

its really depends on the brand. ive got about 7 stands and a wall hanger.
the new A frame low rise stands they make now are impossible to topple. some arm up stands are still balanced on three peg legs. the arm doesnt protect the guitar if the whole stand knocks over.

wall mounts are ok, and look great for display. the only problem would be convenience of mobility. plus ud still need a second stand to take out of the house.

i have a stand by Ultimate, and the thing is fantastic. this is the one i have. very sturdy, folds up compactly and it can hold any shape guitar because it hangs.

I would have to say Rock Solid Guitar Stands are the best multi guitar stands I've seen. They come in some beautiful finishes and are worthy of going on display in your home as well as on stage.

I just got my first one, and it's the best guitar stand I've ever owned.
