Ok I have recently gotten into collecting bootlegs. Particularly Pink Floyd ones. It?s a very addictive hobby and I feel I have found a better form of music, in its true live form. I figured UG could a use a Pink Floyd thread dedicated to discussing concerts, trading RoIOs, and helping others find specific shows.

To start it off . Has anyone seen the footage of them playing in the Hollywood Bowl in 1972? It's a 20-minute clip that shows little parts of the show. I wish the recorder would have gotten the whole thing as it looks amazing. They played all of Darkside (But you only get 15 minutes of random songs). but still what a cool thing

I'm one for the '77 tours myself. But my favorite PF bootleg by far is Divided We Fall. It's a Pro-shot DVD from one of the shows at Earl's Court, and t's the best quality Wall vid out there. Plus, Harvested (bootleg label) worked on it and put some really sweet menus along with Special Features. All in all, it's incredible.

I'm dying to find some concert videos of the '73-'77 era. Dark Side, WYWH, and Animals. Where did you get your bootlegs?

EDIT: Also some Wall concert footage.

^^you're not going to find any 73-77 videos, except for the clips that Stula mentioned and some very bad quality Animals short clips.

Ah, Floyd bootlegs. Where to start?

Out of all the bootlegs I have, the best come from the 74-75 period. 75 has Dark Side, early Sheep/Dogs, plus Shine On 1-5/Have A Cigar/6-9, Have a Cigar with a Gilmour solo, instead of the 77 Snowy White solos. 77 got a little out of hand with fireworks and stuff towards the end of the tour, but the early 77 shows are great. 72 has early Dark Sides, with different lyrics and stuff, which is very cool to hear. A lot of the early radio shows from 1970-71 are not only great quality, but you get songs like Embryo, Fat Old Sun, Cymbaline and extensively long versions of Echoes and occasionally AHM with the orchestra/choir.

Like BrainDamage said, there isn't much footage at all during that time (Which sucks), but for some Wall footage, look at the Wall Dvd I just mentioned. It's incredible. You can get it at thetradersden.org but you have to use a BitTorrent Client (like Azureus), and the file is real big (8.36 GB last time I checked). Plus, if there aren't enough peers (uploaders and downloaders) around, it wont work. But there's enough for this one so it should work.

WOW am i really reading this??? Not one mention of THE Holy Grail of Floyd bootlegs... Pink Pop from Holland in the late 60s someone filmed the complete show and one Frank Zappa played guitar with them on at least a couple of songs.

I've asked around the biz myself about this. I know a couple of people who crewed at that festival and they both claim it actually happened and that it was definitely filmed but I have never ever come across anyone who has 1 seen it or 2 has known anyone else who has.

Ergo it might just be an urban myth. FWIW Zappa is meant to have jammed on "Set the controls" and "Careful with the Axe"

Audio for that tour is plentiful, with the two best concerts (in my opinion anyway) being Oakland (Last time they play Careful with That Axe, Eugene) and Montreal (Roger cusses out the crowd, and then....... The Spit )

As far as video goes, there is practically nothing. If you are lucky enough to find something, it's either going to be a short clip of parts a couple songs or a reall ****ty quality one.

I have The Dark Side Of The Moon Performed live on Wednesday, Novemeber 17, 1974, captured off of a BBC soundboard. Its got a couple of names but i think generally it's called "Brain Damaged Empire". This is really good quality audio but unfortunately it doesn't have Echoes and Shine On which was played after DSotM.
