With a new album out I think they deserve a thread.
What do you guys think of the new record? It's pretty good, beats Sleeping with ghosts, but still isn't perfect like Without you I'm nothing, wich I think is one of the best albums ever.
I'm gonna see them live 26th May!

I haven't picked it up. I do want to hear it though.

I dunno, I'm always a bit hit and miss with placebo.

Don't get me wrong. I do like a lot of their songs, but only in small doses. I can't listen to an album, one track after the other... but if a song by placebo comes on when im listening to music on random, then I wont turn it off

I think Placebo have got steadily worse since Without You I'm Nothing. I was disappointed by Black Market Music, and haven't bothered to buy their other albums.

Meds wasn't a very good album, I thought. It didn't top SWG

It's been agreed the whole world stinks, so no one's taking showers anymore.

I've never liked an entire album but I think calling them a singles band is unfair, as many people do. I've heard parts of the new album but I don't own it. 'Space Monkey' is a cool song.

I burnt the new album off of my cousin, it's just meh, but some of their earlier stuff if kinda cool. I almost saw them in Switzerland, but I opted out to see the Who instead .

heheh. Placebo have got a few years left in 'em yet. The Who could kark it at any given moment =P

And yes I totally agree. Meds was more like meh.

To be honest I only ever liked 3 of their songs, Bruise Pristine, Nancy Boy, and Pure Morning - other than that they leave me kinda cold tbh

sort of a guilty pleasure. my beau met the lead singer a few times back in england. apparently they're huge in europe, but when they visited seattle they played at obscure little venues. i think their self titled album is ace.
