Ok, i was just wondering what genre you guys are leaning on? I get the impression that there is a majority of metal-heads, and i just thought i'd find out. I really coulnd't find a better forum catogory to post it in, so here goes.

Which genre are your playing mostly influenced by? If you are influenced equally much by two genres, just go with either one you want to.

Metal, rock(classic or modern), reggae, punk, grunge, death metal, blues, jazz, alternative or country?

If you like trash metal or whatever subgenre, just say metal.

Oh, lol.. No metals yet? I thought there were mostly metal folk on UG, seeing as how the metal thread has 44 viewing which is four times better than the second biggest which has only 9 viewing.. Well, well.. I'm more influenced by grunge than anything other btw..

I would say Metal with a hint of Blues since Jimi hendrix is one of my main influences and a bit of classical as well 'cause Aram Khachaturian is such a legend!

Well, everyone has a genre that they lean more on than others. For me its grunge coz kurt cobain was the one inspiring me to take up the guitar. But i'm also very inspired by rock, blues, punk and jazz. I mean, you gotta love jazz.

Metal and Blues. I would have voted Grunge but it isn't a genre and my favorite band is metal but is still "grunge".

Grunge is a genre lol... Just because the metallica fanboys hate the sight of kurt cobain doesn't mean they can disprove of the excistence of a whole ****ing genre... Not a genre... lol

Uh... no it's not. I listen to all that kind of music along with metal and I can assure you it's not a genre. Bands in the same genre sound alike and take a look at these grunge bands and tell me they sound alike: Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, TAD, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Skin Yard, etc. etc. Not one of them sounds like another so how can grunge be a genre? If you were to say what you said in the grunge thread you wouldn't hear the end of it

And I don't even have Metallica listed as one of my favorite groups so I don't know where you get your logic...

I meant metal fanboys^^ And i didn't say you were one either. Of course they sound alike. If you look at their music in the early nineties, you will notice similiarities like the "dirty" guitar sound, and heavy drumming. It evolved from punk music and heavy metal, but it slowed the tempo down from traditional punk. It is/was a genre

All of them.

If I had to pick one, jazz.

Yeah, it's just a name given to bands from the Seattle area in the 80's and 90's. It's not a genre, if you'd have heard a lot from any of those bands I mentioned you'd notice that none of them sound alike. I think you're just basing your opinion on Nirvana, sorry.
