Oh, these are probably worth posting.

Casualties of Cool preview I assume. It's... like... country music... in space...

This one is a less focused collection of demo previews. Seems to have some Z2 stuff mixed in though (skip to 1:46 for that; it's really damn cool).

Honestly CoC is the first Devin album I'm not sure I want to buy.

It sounds like the Ghost mixed with the worst bits of Ki.

Ain't Never Gonna Win and Quiet Riot never did much for me.

Ghost though, now THAT is a perfect album.

I'm going to have to disagree with you as well there Parts of Ki were pretty uninteresting. Other parts of it were awesome but some of it was just dull

I was mostly kidding, but what parts exactly did you find dull?

I personally find Ki to be one of the DTP albums that I listen to the most.

I find Ki starts awesome and then the rest of the album is kinda meh (at least on the Devin scale, so it's still better than most bands good output) to me. It's probably my least favourite out of the 4.

Been a good while since I listened to it all the way through but Ain't Never Gonna Win has never really done much for me either.

Huh, that's weird to me, but I can understand what you mean. I'm kinda like that with Ghost.

Ghost has like 2 or 3 good songs and the rest is just boring filler.

My tip: try having sex to Ki, it flows beautifully and definitely changed MY perspective on the album

Yeah, I never got the fuss over Ki either. It's basically everything that I DON'T listen to Devin for, in one album. Thin production, meandering songs with no real "punch", off putting chord progressions.

However, it's not a case of "it's a shit album IMO", it's just not what I wanted Devy to do. I understand completely why he did Ki, and it works as a progression from his old stuff to the Project stuff, but yeah, just ain't my cup o' tea.

I really liked Ki when it came out, mostly due knowing SYL better than Dev's solo stuff at the time, and the sheer novelty of Devin doing something that stripped-down and restrained.

As I said before, I think it holds up poorly in retrospect due to Ghost surpassing it in pretty much every conceivable way. 'Coast' and 'Trainfire' are still good though.

I'm also a bit ambivalent about everything on Addicted that isn't 'Ih-Ah' and 'Awake', to be honest.

Addicted is probably one of the best of the 4. That and Ghost.

Addicted is just so happy and positive. It's so incredibly rare that records that have that kind of vibe are that heavy and groovy, so it's definitely one of my favorite records of all time.

The only song on Addicted that I dislike is Universe in a Ball. And of the DTP albums, Deconstruction is definitely the low point.

I adore Decon. It's such a wild ride, the whole way through.

It's kind of like what I wish Ziltoid was (i.e. get rid of all the hippie introspective shit, like 'Solar Winds').

^Yeah, it's gross.

It's been a while since I gave Ziltoid a spin. I guess I've always thought of it as kind of an overrated release. Maybe I'll like it more if I revisit it.

Considering DKFH was the best drum sim software out when Ziltoid came out, it was really all he could use without resorting to hiring a drummer.

I don't know why Catch 33 sounds so good with DKFH - but then, Ziltoid was the first record Devin recorded and mixed all by himself.

The samples just seem to work better with ludicrously low-pitched guitars. DKFH may have been the most comprehensive and meticulously-detailed drum machine geared specifically towards metal at that time, but it would have sounded much better with drums that didn't sound shit

Oh without question.

If I could wish for one thing from Devy, it'd be a re-mastered Ziltoid with better drums.

Preferably live drums, if he did want to stick with the completely solo dealio then Superior Drummer is far... superior.

Ouch. I got my tickets at 5 past 10 or so. Picked up 3x arena standing for me and my friends without too much issue.

Though if it's any help I paid £100 for a Retinal Circus ticket.

I had planned to buy exactly at 10 but was in a meeting and figured it would be okay for a few minutes.

Paid face for Retinal circus though.

The "big" venues really need to get on e-tickets for all and then work in some kind of way to refund people who can't go.

also had a good night with Casualties of cool yesterday. sat in 2nd row in the pews to the right of the stage, which was pretty great since that was as close as you could get as the middle front few pews were all reserved

Got a standing and two circles for my parents.

I'm not happy with this presale nonsense though.

who was the presale open to?

I hope it wasn't some kind of special "super" fan thing that you'd only know about if you've been in devin's butt 24/7.

Presale? I wasn't aware of any presale. Pretty sure the VIP went in about a minute. To you gotta remember that the sort of people who will shell out for VIP are the same people who will go to ridiculous lengths to get it.

Got a arena standing ticket on wednesday's presale. I suspected they'd quickly sell out.

For some reason it was a public presale the day before! I've heard murmers that it was for the sites newsletter subscribers, but it got public, no idea if that's factual or not.

I managed to find out cause I googled the tickets to make sure of the time that they were going to come out was right!
