What I continue to see/hear on all these young guys' shredding videos is the high amount of delay. I mean, if you tune you delay correctly, you could get it to fill in between your picked notes making it sound like you play twice as fast, and thus be alot better than what they actually are.

Ya'll need to stop drowning your playing in effects. At least when rehearsing or you'll just end up fooling yourself..

there are only a few shredders i think are actually good..Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jim Petruci, and Joe Satriani all come to mind. they put depth to their shredding, not just speed.
