well i have an Epiphone SG, and it sucks. So, my plan here is to take out the crappy stock pickups, and add a DiMarzio DP207 Dropsonic for the bridge pickup, and an EMG for the neck pickup. Can someone tell me if this will sound good?. And i also want to MAKE a pickguard for it, and possibly add some pinstriping.

is this sounding good so far?

the feedback will help me.

Almost impossible to combine active and passive pups.

well.. my second choice was EMG 60 in the neck, EMG 81 in the bridge.

Updated Plan:
Epiphone SG
Replace Stock Pickups - EMG 60 in the neck, EMG 81 in the bridge
Custom Pick Guard
Pinstriping

You'll need to have a cavity for a battery somewhere. Maybe route under the pickguard so if it looks bad, nobody will notice.

^I think the SG cavity is big enough.
