I'm new here, and pretty new to guitars, so don't laugh too hard
I broke the high E string, so I'm needing some new ones. Will just anything like this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/DAddario-EXL120-Electric-Guitar-Strings-BUY-1-GET-2_W0QQitemZ7412647134QQcategoryZ64424QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
or http://cgi.ebay.com/DADDARIO-EXL110-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-STRINGS-10-46_W0QQitemZ7411089835QQcategoryZ2384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And what do the gauges mean exactly? Is higher or lower number better?
And nickel plated is what I want, right?
Thanks

Those would work, but you don't have to get them of ebay, just get them at your local guitar store. The gauge is the thickness of the strings. Lower gauge strings are easier to play, but have less sustain and don't sound as good as higher gauge strings. This probably won't matter as much if you are playing an electric, though. Nickel plated strings are used so the pickups can "pick up" the sound of the strings.

Ok, but they'd probably cost more at a local music shop, though, right?
Also, the closest one to me is in another town (I live in a small town), so it might be a while till I go there.
So, the lower gauge is probably what I'll want to go with?

After shipping and stuff, it will all cost the same. Plus, you will have to change strings every month or so, so just avoid eBay and go to the music store.

Ok. I think for this time, I'll get them on ebay (for the sake of convenience and time).
But then I'll stock up and get them from a music store.
Thanks guys
