hi, i dont no if thi9s is the best forum but, i wanted to know something. i am thinking of purchasing a bouzoki. i wanted to know. does it play the same as a mandolin? or what is is like i would like some info on the instrument?

yeah it can be played like a mandolin, obviously the playing experience would be a little different given its size but i would imagine that if you are already a competent mandolin player, a switch to the bouzouki wouldn't present much of a difficulty.

to me the main difference is that there are a lot of different tunings used on the bouzouki. i've read about DADA being used, others too but that's the only one i can name off the top of my head. and of course it can be played in mandolin/fiddle GDAE tuning should you be so inclined
