I am thinking to buy a new 5 string bass and get rid of the old one. im looking for some metal/rock bass....can u give some advice. By the way im a left handed bassist so please tell some lefty models.

The Rickenbacker 4003/5 was a 4003 that was made to have 5 strings (Same width fretboard, so as you can imagine very tight string spacing) and the 4004cii/5 which is a 4004 series bass that is an ACTUAL 5 string and thus has a wider fretboard.

The 4003/5 is discontinued as a production model, and I do not know anybody who owns a 4004cii/5


But alas, neither are lefty and even more neither are 900 dollars.

If you want a cool metal 5'er try out either SR505, SR905, ESP/LTD B405, most ESP/LTDs above the 400 sries, in fact.

not if you get a good Ebay deal, I got mine for just over 800.
