I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..

hey guys! I checked out your video for enter sandman, and don't take it personal but .. you guys kinda sucks.. hard.. but still, you're young more practice and maybe another guitar and you're off

Okay, i listened to enter sandman and whoa, the timing was terrible. The lead and the drums were not together, the solo was pretty crappy, but it is a hard one to really get down because of all of the wah. The vocals, wow, i don't know what to say about that. You showed promise, just keep working.

Edit: Oh yeah, and just for the record, the singer should have a little more life in him, when he announces the song it just seems like he doesn't want to be there.

enter sandman was simply bad. Im sorry. The tone in the intro was bad, the solo was sloppy as hell and the drums dont sound too good. But Ive seen much worse, you are on a good way, keep going.

I am the guitarest and i know the solos were whack, it was my bad. I was tentive to learn the solos and when you get out there in front of the people and its cold your fingers lock up...You might have a band and play places too and this mite not happen to you, but this was our first BIG gig and i was nervous and it was a bit cold, and i improvised on mst solos and it sounded horrible, thanks though
#14
Playing was not perfect, but I know exactly what you mean about locking up on your frist bigger gig.

The singer (and the band in general) reall has to wake up....he's just standing there with his hand in his pocket. Move more! Look like you're having fun.
#15
you guys suck so bad.... chris, you are the worst guitar player I have ever seen in my llife... learn to play your instrument...

and chris, dont post on my thread and make fun of us and i wont bash your ass

Fair enuff, warm up for about 20minutes with some scales. Wear a jumper lol take a few beers gets rid of the nerves. Playing for one person, for a 1000people or in your bedroom. Its all the same

i watched the video for enter sandman, and there was more bad than good. nothing that cant be worked on, though. first off, you guys need some freakin energy. the audience was probably bored off their ass. jump around go crazy snort a line before you go on, something. when you play the solo, move up front and show off alittle.(learn how to play it right first) and as for as you freezing up in front of people, i think you can play or you freakin cant. you dont play it physically different than you would if you were alone, so i think you should just relax. the tone in the beginning is awful, but ive seen that song covered a thousand times and every one of them has crappy intro tone. a clean guitar tone aint gonna cut it for that song, no matter what kinda guitar you got. your distortion sounds pretty good though, and i think the drummer is spot on. tell the singer to take a hike.
"Sig? No sorry I don't smoke."

i thought sandman was not well done... the tuning and and timing wasn't fabulous, i on the hand enjoyed the paranoid cover alot. It was miles better in tightness and the singing was better in my opinion. Although the solo wasn't quite as good as i anticipated...
#21
Only thing I can really say that hasn't been said is...until you can pretty much nail the solo...don't play it. No foul in not playing the solo...it's definitley better not to play it, than to kill it ya no? I don't understand why some of these posters were straight up assholes with their posts. There's more than one way to pass on a hint to someone that they need some practice...than to be a dick.

Keep working at it, I'm sure you guys are playing more songs live than half of the people here.

You weren't too bad for a first gig.

But, man...your band just needs some more work. Your singer tried to sound like Hetfield, and he did a horrible job. Your drummer needs a metronome or something, and your bassist is doing an okay job, just needs to get his amp turned up louder.

Your guitar playing was off timing, and the solo sucked. But, it was your first gig, so, kudos.

If your singer had been better, I probably would have enjoyed the Enter Sandman video.

Good luck!

Okay, good luck. Oh, and for the love of God, please move around when on stage...

paranoid wasn't bad until the solo, i was expecting it to be kinda like the original, but it was completely different :P i think the solo really makes that song great... sandman was a bit out, u need another guitarist to pull it off better... your drummer is alright... minus a few of his timing issuues, i noticed he does a lot of quick kick fills like lars uses on the justice album... not alot of stage movement either, and the bassist was very quiet, kinda looks like hes hiding behind the singer a bit?
#26
yeah...you guys need some energy. your lead singer didnt know the words to have you ever seen the rain...the rhythm was good and it was played well, but the lead singer needs more confidence and he needs to sing a little louder. get another guitar. practice you could do better.
#28
Sounded like you need more cohesion.

Also, sounded like a 13 year old singing.

Enter Sandman was pretty good. The solo sounded a little off, and the drumming was a little off. The singer was pretty good in the first verse and he kinda trailed off for the rest of the song. Overall 6.5/10

Paranoid was also pretty good. I actually just got done learning that song earlier today so I can say that the solo you played was totally different from the song. If it was just improvised it was pretty good, but it wasn't the same as the song. Also, the intro was really screwed up. Other than that, everything was alright. Overall 6/10

EDIT: oh yeah, and tell your singer to move around more, he was so freakin' boring with his hands in his pockets.

The Music got a 7/10 since it was your first gig (solo dropped 1.5 points and singing 1 and the tune .5)

Energy 0/10 HAVE FUN! Thats why you are in a band right? If it isnt then quit! Let the crowd work off your energy get them pumped so they have fun and want to do it again.

Yes i know we need to move around alot more, and we deffintaly will, i guess the excitement just caught me and I didn't want to mess up and look liek an idiot. Thanks for the advice. We will try our best to have more energy too
THANX ALL!!!!
