If you cut down on these costs students won't learn so well, effecting the "quality"...

Be Yourself - Audioslave has a decent amount of slides. Easy enough to learn too.

^^^Ignore that if you meant playing WITH a slide (ie. bottleneck style) rather than playing legato.

Scar Tissue by RHCP has some really sweet easy slide parts, as do many songs of QOTSA's most recent album (Lullabies to Paralyze), Layla by Derek and the Dominoes has a truly insane slide solo. Finally, listen to John Butler, who uses a lot of slide, but who's songs will take you the rest of your life to master, because, frankly, he owns us all.
Feel free to ignore my ranting.

ummm....allman brothers band? duane allman is pretty much arguably the best slide guitarist ever. also look at derek trucks, he is the best young guitarist alive, and he plays pretty much all slide (similar to duane)

EDIT: ^ the solo in layla was played by duane, too
