you have a squire strat (according to your sig it was in a starter pack, Fender doesn't make any) and you want to play death metal. Have fun lol. Anyway, go on google, and type in death metal tabs. You'll get your evil sounding ****.

I'm going to get flamed for this but oh well.

Try Coffin Fodder by Cradle of Filth. Some great riffs IMO, sounds great with 2 guitars (there's cool harmonizing in the "chorus"), plus... best of all, when you play it you don't have to hear Dani's awful vocals!

Very easy song, might I add.

^^ I sympathise for you lol. You have a random obscure Fender lol and yah, you could also goggle Metal tabs, shred tabs, or go in UG and just search for stuff (try some Operatic Metal too, it's interesting).

Wow... poor you

either you cant read

or you have a cheap-o guitar

and i mean really cheap...

either way

i think you should check out some Lamb of God,
even though its technically "metalcore"
its easy, and sounds pretty good
when played right

666 the number of the beast is a great metal song. I think Maiden used a strat on one of those solos.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

easy, punchy, and catchy..

but its not neccesarily evil....

I Am Evil - don't know the original band, but is covered live a lot by metallica. Its very easy, and sound like the song's name itself.

Sad But True - Metallica
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Holier Than Thou - Metallica
The Unnamed Feeling - Guess Who??

Rites of Death - Antestor.

The chord progressions and keyboard arpeggios of Children of Bodom can be extremely dark and mysterious.
Check out "Downfall" for an example, I also think "Bodom after midnight" has an element of that as well.

As for evil, really any kind of thrash or death metal, check out Nile, some of their stuff sounds dark, "Sacrifice unto sebek" especially (to me).

get a new amp before you change your guitar....
you should get like a Roland Cube, as that willl be versatile for your "evil" metal and your "mellow" songs like Stairway...
and if you can get enough money, buy the amp, and then put new pickups in your "star" caster...
it will take you a lot farther then playing a nice Jackson/Ibanez through a crappy fender frontman knock-off

Yah,
your post above you saved you from flamage...

i have reason to believe right now, you are tone deaf..
Mega Dist 2... is an average pedal at best...
and as almost anyone here will tell you, the Line 6 spiers suck...
and its also a common "noob" misconception that Big = Better..

but heres what i reccomend you do..
Go to a store that carries Nice amps, and the guitars you are looking at..
now Plug the guitars into a similar rig as yours (try a fender frontman, and a boss md2)
now, plug the exact same guitar into say a Roland Cube, Peavey XXX combo,
or possibly a Mesa F series combo.. and you should hear and feel the difference..

now you can be naive and say its the guitar, or transcend the "noob" classification
and realize a new amp would be better than a new guitar

Look into a Schecter Omen 6 or Damien 6(I'm guessing based on the songs you stated that you know that you don't have much use for a whammy bar) they're good playing guitars and I personally love the way they sound, and the best part is they aren't too expensive, the Omen will run you around $300 and the Damien will cost $400-$450(I forget the exact price). As far as amps go I would suggest the Line 6 HD147, It's loud as hell and can do just about any sound you want.

Oh yeah, on the original topic of evil sounding songs try something off of South of Heaven or Seasons in the Abyss by Slayer, they're just as evil as Raining Blood but they're a little bit slower so they make a little more sense. Also something you can use to make your own compositions sound a little more"evil" is the minor third interval(three frets higher on the same string or a "backwards" root-fifth power chord).
#24
you poor, delusional bastard.
starter pack stuff never sounds good. ever.
get new gear, and not a line6.
trust UG.

anyways, i say Dead Skin Mask by Slayer or South of Heaven by the same band.
slow and simple, but also FUCKING EVIL!

hey just a question...i like slayer, but is it just me or are the notes to South of Heaven about 95% the same as Raining Blood??? (Intro)

I have a Jackson DKMG with EMG's and it is well worth the $700, and I have a VOX AD50VT some people don't like em, but for $350, that 50 watt is in my mind under priced for it's tone and volume. I would reccomend you a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier because they are the greatest amps that god has yet to invent, but if I don't have the cash, and you have a starcoaster (wtf?) then i'm guessing you don't have the $$$ either
#28
I just remembered another.
Check out Alcatrazz's (Yngwie) old song "Incubus"
It is very simple, not stereotypically-yngwieish fast, and very dark.

like light to flies by trivium
self revolution by killswitch engage. the chorus riff with the pinch harmonic is jst awesome.
