ok, so i am planning on buying a not so good Jay Turser vintage strat for 199.99 canadian..and i was origanlly going ot replace the pups with DiMarzio's...but apparently for the 3 single coils i wanted it would cost me about 500 bucks...which is fu.cked up...so now im going ot check into getting seymour duncans...i was planning on a Hot Rail for the bridge, a Vintage for the middle and a Cool Rail in the neck...think that owuld be a nice set up?...i play old rock and shred..and metal, but this guitar is not for metal, just blues and old rock stuff like Iron Maiden

and if i cant afford the Seymour Duncan's either...i was thinking abuot a set of EMG s models...i think it was the s anyway, what do you guys think?

Hah, hey again...

Good choice not going with the DiMarzios. My friend just put three into his MEX Strat. Very dull and lifeless tone. It sounds awful, but he thinks its sounds great. Then again, he's also a bass player who plays his strat through a BASS AMP haha

Why buy a cheap guitar and spend money on getting new pups? Buy a more expensive guitar

The Hot Rails is a little stacked humbucker but it's single coil size. I had one put in my Telecaster and it's very good. You won't regret it. It's perfect for punk/rock/maybe some metal at a push depending on your pedals and amp.

i use a samick 40 watt amp, yeah its not very good but i like the way it sounds...and a zoom 505II affects pedal...and to tabber666...who bought a fak jem..haha...i cant afford a expensive guitar...and if i did get one, i would be too afraid to ruin it or something seeing as how this is my first mod ever, i have never touched anything on a guitar before besides strings

Yea, actually, good idea. Buy a guitar cheap and practice on it. You can always use the pick ups on a more expensive guitar when you have the experience. Or you could save for a guitar with Duncans already in it. Yea, I bought a fake JEM lol but i got some nice guitars aswell.
